I Held You Tight

I Saw you born, then I held you Tight,
I knew I loved you straight away
With your tiny hands and your tiny feet, your eyes not used to light
I gazed upon your lovely face and i began to sway.

I remember well when we first met
When I held you in my arms
even though you didn't know me yet
there was no signal of alarm.

The tears of joy I shed for you.
They made me feel aglow.
The happiness that sweet day brought
A Love I had never known.

From the first moment that you squeezed my hand
and when you slept contentedly.
I knew I Loved with all my heart
and I knew that you Loved me.

The years have passed and how you've grown
never failing to surprise,
but no matter how old or big you get
You're my baby in my eyes.
