I Heard a Meow

 
Once there was a small cat who often sat,
inside my backpack- just jumped in that brat;
at school I heard a meow,
I had to hide her somehow;
lucky, she was happy with a wee pat !

But after a nap she wanted to play,
oh, stay in my bag kitty I did pray;
but she got out for a view,
and then away kitty flew;
I took chase yelling, "oh look a lost stray !"
