I Have Studied Them

But you are identical twins, she argues. I have studied them. They are all the same. I feel my standard pasted on grin appearing on my lips. Identical twins think the same thing, she says. I am a researcher. I have studied them. Hear me out. The grin is there in full force now. I can feel it. But have you studied my twin and me? I ask her. I do not have to, she tells me. I have studied enough of them. I take my “you-are-enormously-stupid” grin with me And I go home to call my twin. We speak for an hour. Not agreeing on anything Yet still loving each other. If others could just take a page out of our book The world would possibly fix itself.

Great story, Caren! ... I've actually seen ID twins go both ways, i.e., almost the same in thought, deed, and looks --- and others pairs you almost don't recognize as twins at first. Thoroughly enjoyed, esp. your grin! Chuckling away, gw

Thank you. We have the same face, same freckles, same mannerisms, same witchy laugh, same walk, same hand gestures, because we are identical. Yet we agree on practically nothing.

I have twins in my own family tree, friends who are triplets, as well. No, they are very much individuals inside, though some folks don't have a clue. Well worded.

It is crazy but I did not have a name until I left home. I was "one of the twins".
