I Have Studied Them
But you are identical twins, she argues.
I have studied them. They are all the same.
I feel my standard pasted on grin appearing on my lips.
Identical twins think the same thing, she says.
I am a researcher. I have studied them. Hear me out.
The grin is there in full force now. I can feel it.
But have you studied my twin and me? I ask her.
I do not have to, she tells me.
I have studied enough of them.
I take my “you-are-enormously-stupid” grin with me
And I go home to call my twin.
We speak for an hour.
Not agreeing on anything
Yet still loving each other.
If others could just take a page out of our book
The world would possibly fix itself.
