I Have Been Afraid of Having You Close

I have been afraid of having you in my thoughts. Afraid someday I might go a step further and wish to have you in my arms.
And every time I look at your face I have been afraid ; afraid I might look into your eyes and lose myself all over again.
While I cross your street I have been afraid ; afraid I might look around and find you looking straight at me.
I have been afraid to open those books that have passed through your hands back to me ; afraid I might smell your fragrance between the pages in there.
I have been avoiding the people that you know ; afraid if I meet them they will ask about you.
I have been running , running away from you ; cause if I stop I'm afraid you'll catch up with me.
I have been praying , praying hard that you find love somewhere , so much so that about me you don't care ; cause I'm afraid if I find you lonely I'll come running back.
