I Have a Feeling

I have a feeling I will eventually get where I need to go To where it is I am supposed to be Though, like a butterfly reeling on the wind At the mercy of the will of life On this migration From first light and breath Until at last the body fails I suffer every day beneath the skin For humanity My heart like a tin can rattles endlessly Against its prison of ribs We are born wounded Mentally Physically Spiritually Honestly, wounded

Hi Jeff, You have penned a well crafted poem. It flowed in content and good imagery. I agree we were born "wounded" , however I must stay optimistic for a better tomorrow for us all. Well done. Thanks for visiting my page:-) Alexis
