I Hate Utility Companies

Utility companies are unforgiving.
Relentless.
Mean.
Money-grubbing.
Nasty.
Then they add taxes.

Dirty coal tax.
Tuesday wash day tax.
Dog scratching tax.
Garbage day tax.

Always adding to your bill.
Never letting up.
I hate utility companies.
Others do too.

But can we eliminate them?
Apparently not.

I wish we could figure out a way to make things affordable.

I am brutally honest almost always. If I am lying it means I do not either like you or trust you.

The only utility I pay out of my pocket is the telephone (and the internet), and it's affordable, though I sometimes use threats to drop the service when they up the charges for no good reason. Don't let them get you down, they do do a service, you know. / M

We have what is called the DIRTY COAL tax in Kansas. Electricity costs us $700 a month average here, which means I will never retire. They will take me out in a body bag.

Hi Caren I think there would be many folk out there who would most surely agree with you. I enjoyed the read, my friend....Peter

I tried to hold back but have you met Trixie?

Eliminating them probably wouldn't be very "utilitarian", Caren. I only have one these days, and it's not too bad to deal with...but, oh, there have been others!

We lived in a mobile home a million years ago - a small one, in 1972 and they gave us a $1000 water bill for one month. I called EVERYONE until they backed down.

Thank God I successfully eliminated all of the potential jobs I did not like, and found one that I love as I will have to keep a paying them for 36 more years as I plan to die at 93.
