I hate the sky
I hate planes now.
I hate pilots.
I hate everything that has to do with the air.
I don’t want to talk about it.
I don’t want to hear about it.
I don’t even want to say the words out loud anymore.
Because they all remind me of you.
And that should be a good thing.
But every reminder of you
also reminds me of the fact
that I can’t be with you.
That one day you’ll leave
and I’ll have to stay here pretending I know how to live normally afterward.
I don’t ever want to fly on a plane again.
I don’t ever want to see an airplane again.
Some days I don’t even want to look at the sky.
Because everything connected to it
somehow circles back to you.
And every time I look up,
all I can think about
is how someday you’ll probably move on,
love another girl,
smile at someone else the way I wish you’d smile at me.
Kiss someone else the way I wish you’d
Kiss me.
I’ll never love the sky again.
