I Had a Thought

I had a thought...
From whence it came
'Tis all but mystery.
But I nurtured it
As best I could
To practicality.

I humbly beg
Forgiveness and I
Mean no disrespect.
But your objection
Seems misguided as
You haven''t heard it yet.

Delay your anger and
Protestations before I'm
Sentenced to the flame
And trust your world
Will keep spinning and
The sun will shine again.

Should my words cause
Some discomfort and leave
You mentally askew.
Remember...Just because i
Had a thought does not
Always make it true.

So forgive this brief
Intrusion and I'll say this
Before i go.
It's just a thought that
Peaked my interest and I
Wanted you to know.

           The End

Love the sentiment, David, and esp. your smackdown of 'the woke-flakes' at the end. Write on, brother! ~ gw

Some universities are fighting back telling students if they are not prepared to have their views challenged... they should go somewhere else. Good to hear. Stay frosty my friend.

Kind words indeed. I was trying to write a poem using the fewest words necessary to get my point across. Have a great day my friend.

David, I thoroughly enjoyed your poem, and I kept thinking, "I had a thought," and wondered if they were the same? Wouldn't that be a coincidence to remember....

Great minds do think alike. But I'm sure I've never had an original thought. We build on the shoulders of those that came before... as it should be. Stay well my friend.
