I had a dream that i was loved

I had a dream that I was loved
A smooth caress on my face
My body held tightly
I felt his love melt the cold memories of lovers past

I had a dream that I was loved
A melody dedicated to my name
Drizzled with honey
The sound of it from his lips created the beat of our eternal dance

I had a dream that I was loved
I felt safe and cared for
Known
Finally able to look at the world through rose-colored glasses

I had a dream that I was loved
But then I stirred in my sleep
He disappeared from my arms
And my glasses broke
