I Got Lost

I got lost
On a country road
I met a friend
In a field she sowed.

I saw a smile
So innocent and real
I discovered a life
So quite and zeal.

I felt the wind
Kiss my cheek
I learned a way
That others speak.

I saw simplicity
Show a beautiful life
I heard the hum
From a busy wife.

I took a deep breath
Of country air
I watched her work
With a dedicated flair.

I am a world
Apart from her
I value her friendship
Like frankincense and myrrh.

I took a moment
To really see
My brothers and sisters
Are just like me.

I got lost
On a country road
I found myself
In a whole new world.
