I Get To Leave Early

They come prancing in, all excited
Because their parent has arrived
To take them home early

I keep my mouth wisely shut
Not mentioning the dentist
The doctor or the Covid shot

Knowing their idea of a trip to Disney World
is not happening

Thanks Caren, a light verse was just what I need right now. One event happening, but many ways it may be preceived. A poet friend, Bill

Hello Caren, well the children are excited to leave early. Without the reason why. Hugs.

Hello Caren, yes that would be an disappointment for the children. Hugs.

They sure are - until they figure it out. Many are brought back after the dentist, the doctor and the shot.

I know. I watch them go feeling sad for them.
