I Fry By Lie Try Cry Sigh Die Bye

We had a nice lunch, my friend Lavonna and I.
We laughed our heads off over a distorted fry.
Our playfulness lasted all day, by and by.
Most of our favorite stories fringed on a lie.

We had so much fun, without even a good try.
Laughed so hard once, turned into a crazy cry.
We had a wonderful lunch, my friend and I.
She did not want to ruin it by causing a sigh.

So she never told me she was going to die.
We were the best of best friends, Lavonna and I.
I met her at the pearly gates wearing orange hair dye.
You had colon cancer too? She asked by and by.

No I got killed in a wreck I said with a sigh.
A semi crossed the line without a good-bye.
I saw it coming, but I was stuck next to a guy.
Who did not move his car, so I had to die.

This swings from silly to solemn and back with ease, but ultimately is life affirming - you are a witty storyteller, Caren!
