I Forgive

To forgive is to let go
To let bygones pass by
Its to say thank you for the experience
To accept, and declutter our mind

Forgiveness creates a beautiful paradigm shift
It's a peaceful, euthymic state
It's the quieting of the internal critic
Its where we become liberated from self-hate

Its an awareness of a destructive narrative
Its observing, without attaching to the words
Its self-compassion
Its letting go, while at the same time, being heard

So, let's clarify our thoughts
Carefully evaluate the validity of feelings in our life
Recognition - all of life has been necessary
Forgiveness - it heals the inside

Kelly, you have a real psychological, even philosophical flair to your poetry that I enjoy. I love your treatment of forgiveness as a necessity for bringing healing to the soul. I like your line "It's the quieting of the internal critic". Easier said than done, but when done, so healthy. I've enjoyed reading your poetry tonight. Warm regards ~ John

Thanks John, I'm glad my interest are coming through. I'm fascinated by human behavior. My real job is personal training, so i have the incredible opportunity to work one on one with people 10 hours a day. This profession has driven me in to the fields of psychology and philosophy. Poetry has become a great source of therapy for me. I've become better at listening and being in the moment because every hour provides a potential poem. Thanks so much for your comments, Kelly
