I Fly Among Spirits

Great Spirit
Who is the center of all circles
light, life, directions, colors and love
I give you my heart....Wayne William Snellgrove     Saulteaux Tribe  


Your thrum I felt in my inner heart
Every day since before I first knew you
Hummingbird spirit it’s you I do imbue
Trusted you right from the very first start
Then one early evening you had to depart

For another had come to be my bird guide
Calling to me each day in steady shrill voice
Days it took me to hear her clear choice
To open to Hawk spirit as my new confide
Yet to this day they are both by my side

Now I am attuned to travel with others
The Crow and Eagle spirits also my brothers
In dreams they come or in the wide-open sky
Tell me secrets of wisdom to help me to fly
Through spirit we listen, closer to one another
