I Feel Fresh Doubt
I wrote a limerick last night,
And dreading that no reader laughed,
I sulk and feel compelled to write
What lures me to this poet-craft.
And dreading that no reader laughed,
I'll jot this pantoum to explain
What lures me to this poet-craft ...
Pantoums, I find, are pleasure's bane ...
I'll jot this pantoum to explain
I love to write, but feel fresh doubt
(Pantoums, I find, are pleasure's bane)
So from this craft I must bail out?
I love to write, but feel fresh doubt
Because pantoum schemes drive me mad
So from this craft I must bail out--
That one small fact sure makes me glad.
Because pantoum schemes drive me mad
I sulk and feel compelled to write
That one small fact sure makes me glad:
I wrote a limerick last night!
