I Fear No More

One day I jumped
Quick in to the Sand
There was no one
there holding my
hand
I felt myself
sinking, I had no
pain
I was definitely
drowning, suddenly
aware of every grain

This was quicksand,
and surely I’d be
dead
Soon I realized my
troubles were all in
my head
That’s when I
remembered a
swimming technique,
flat and spread
I think the best
swimmers call this a
tread

Within an instant my
direction was
changed
Sinking to rising,
no longer in chained
Once I was freed It
came apparently
clear
What I was feeling
was a product of
fear

I Fear No More
