I Eat

I am in the entrails of rot, A mock of the human mind, A plea and a drain I eat and I eat and I eat The faith of the human heart I rest in your dread I am the starvation of reality I will crawl you to the end To the break, the butchery I am the sole stabber The giver of gore You are open to me And I close you forever [I decided to draw a picture for this poem and that which you see above is what came out of my brain. You're welcome.... XD]

We carry a lot of evolutionary baggage and will do almost anything to survive. These drivers have become highly enabled in this world of electronic amplification. Ironic that the ones who are treated so badly are so accepting of the treatment, the brain washing and the dictators on all levels.

The sketch intrigues me, it's style and mood...reminds me of Van Gogh's drawing of "A Woman In Sorrow", or something of that description. This poem is magnificent in how it illuminates the nature of psychological insecurity. I don't believe the title does justice to the brilliance of this poem Poetess...J.A.B.

Interesting, thank you as always for your thoughts. Yeah, I had trouble finding the right title for this piece. The title of the actual sketch is Anxiety and another i drew beside it was Repression... which was what I was meaning to write about in this poem.. but as I continued writing, there became something else. I thought.... this isnt a really poem about anxiety. It's about temptation, and it's about the hungry monster in us all, that when fed is fueled to end us. Could not think of any title that could emphasize that more. ~Laura
