Notes About The Poem

There are so many issues on planet earth that can drag us down. Ridicule, treachery, betrayal to name just a few. Why do you choose to rise above it? Where do you find your motivation? If you found yourself in the pit in the past, what helped you to dig out and rise to the clouds once more? This poem can be deeply personal or you can approach it from an ethereal or whimsical point of view. No rules but please stick to the theme as best you can. Use any title you want but remember to reference the contest in notes. Examples can be found in my latest poem - Monster, or my song - The Spirit, the Water and the Blood.—TW

I Dwell In Halo Clouds

I choose to dwell in frothy clouds…
with a mindset unfixed
Random instincts spaced out
In the cumulus mix
An expansive effusion
Far out and beyond my temporal shackles
Free are my thoughts without prompt
Closed minds shallow and
desolate debacles
dissipate in this airy romp

On wispy clouds I dwell in…
high above I’ve risen
Here no need to reason
nor the blends of interpretation
Far away, so far from you, ascended
From the fiery pit below
which awaits my return
Where blazing saddles shame my name
where gross gossip lives and
bloody rumors stain,
Ablaze are the blame games

I dwell in cirrus pillows…
The scoped hemispheric
veils, bands and billows
Musings— using me

I chose to dwell in halo clouds
My mind with no refrains
Nothing to lose nothing to gain
A spirit free from hate
Soley my mind
Opens heaven’s gate

Your inner strength and resilience is palpable in your words. It surely will serve you well in life's rocky and unpredictable battles. Decency and determination can often be found in the rarefied air of the atmosphere beyond. GL in the contest, Robert

aww inner strength much needed when in a 2-FRONT-WAR dear poet. The Right-side and the mean, that's a whole lotta strength needed, I must unleash the superhero. (anayalator) lol. What gives me strength is in the moment...I feel so much love in a moment like this, right here and now!! Thank you, Robert for your ongoing kind words and support, warm wishes to you, poet. You may want to check potd! ~

Dear Anaya, I came to dwell with you. I say, what a beautiful exploration of freedom and transcendence. I love how your cloud imagery symbolizes escape from earthly troubles and the liberation of thought. You have wonderfully captured the essence of clouds as representations of transience, clarity, and spiritual elevation. Thank you for sharing this uplifting and thought-provoking piece. Spring Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

It's mandatory to stick to the theme of the contest-Ridicule, treachery, betrayal hence its in the mix, any abuse here shall be called out. I staunchly keep the course. I love Poetry Soup so many poets are kind and friendly and intelligent, bright minds, like your enlightened mind. This is why I wish to stay and keep learning poetry. Ty for being a poet friend! warm blessings

Delightful poem, dear Anaya. Wish I could fly high over clouds. Reminds me when I flew on an aeroplane, a long time ago. Sic transit gloria mundi :)

Anaya, I do like how you get yourself to such a high place...you let yourself be unchained from what we have down here and just take it all in. Ruling out hate seems like a pretty good recipe! Smiles!! Your description of the cloud forms rings true, so you must have spent some time up there!!

You are too kind, i truly appreciate you. Yes, just yesterday i was spacing out alongside the Lenticular cloud, the ones that take shape as UFO's! Mind-blowing, if you stay too long it can drive you mad. Haters need beware of the grey clouds they'll cling forevermore. lol. all in fun, dear poet hope you enjoyed!
