I Dreamt Of You

Even as the night has drifted
softly upon me
distilling its emptiness.
So also has your memory
in silence
crept from within the walls,
wrapping me in the velvet cloak
of longing, and desire.
And I am helpless
for my senses betray me.

The memory of your scent
rests upon my skin.
The thought of your warmth
presses against me.
The vision of your silhouette
Approaches and falls upon my eyes.
And all…
all becomes as a dream before me.

And I shall dream,
oh yes, I shall dream
until no reason remains…
to wake.
