I dreamt of a Hug

I dreamt of a hug
and shattered my heart
again and again and again
until everything turned to dust

I dreamt of a kiss
and picked the skin on my lips
over and over and over again
until it turned blood red

I dreamt of a hug
where I could be held
of a safe space
where I could breathe

and choked my neck
until my body went limp
