I Dream Poetic Lines of Love
In dreams I linger in solitude,
sipping a cup of contemplation,
brewed from leaves of my expectations.
Writing pages of romantic Sonnets
about plans I have for me and you.
Sometimes I'm fearful of rejection,
spurned if you should turn away from me.
I dream of being kissed and caressed,
like the waves that fondle the sandy shore.
It's then I yearn for more hours of restless sleep,
where I fantasize that you are the flowing tide,
coming to sweep me off my feet.
In my poetic dreams you're only a heartbeat away.
I hear your voice call to me, or so it seems,
as I wait for you to find me.
where we journey in realms of ardor each night.
You fill my heart with tender emotions.
Words of devotion to you I speak in rhyme,
when upon my cheek you place a kiss.
and the silence between us is unmuted.
I've journeyed a thousand miles in pellucid reveries,
searching to find myself in the depths of your eyes,
where passion takes root within the chasm of my soul.
I dreamed poetry would lead me to you,
and in many verses, by my pen it was foretold
that one day we would share the same dream.
In that dream, time has no place or meaning.
Whether in the limpid lavender light of dawn,
the shadowed skies of dusk, or in the moon's luminance
among brilliant stars in an ebony night,
I listen for your footfall to cross my threshold.
When you finally appear, I cry joyful tears.
The candle flame sputters when you breathe my name,
and beyond the veil of dreams, we tryst.
I hear two hearts speaking, the voices ours,
and 'love' is a word both hearts gladly avow.
