I Dream of Jeanne

Most nights my thoughts go adrift
Sweet dreams I have of this girl,
who barely knows I exist
She is a dark Mediterranean beauty,
an around-the-way ghetto cutie
Of Jeanne, I dream
I dream of going on a date with
her
conversing with me ...
maybe even kissing me
Kissing me softly
I love this part of my dreaming of Jeanne
In my dream within a dream,
I am aroused by ethereal, teenage awakenings
Of Jeanne, I dream
I dream of going to a party with
her
dancing with me ...
maybe even hugging me
Holding my hand tenderly
I just hope I'm not tongue-tied
when I see her the next time
I'm gonna ask her for her phone number
Who knows,
she might even start dreaming of me
