I Don'T Want To Know

If our story has an ending...I don't want to know... I shall put my hands up to my eyes, and turn my head away If goodbye words must be written, I don't want the world to know Please don't spread the word......If you care at all....what the ending said I cannot bear to know...... Let's pretend instead ..... I cannot bear to know Was I a fool to think you loved me before the ink was dry?... Was it just my fantasy........? What I always thought was meant forever...did it come with a goodbye? Was I blinded by the moonlight, and dazzled by a lie? Were we writing different stories, in our different worlds apart? Were you ripping empty pages, while I filled my own with heart? Was I a fool to let stars blind me, not to read between the lines? Was I lost in the dark........from the very start? Let us turn to chapter one again, and start it all again We can skip the end..........We'll begin again...we'll begin when love was new Where the pages lie unwritten, and the words are yet unsaid If goodbye words must be written, I don't want the world to know Please don't spread the word......If you care at all.....what the ending said If our story has an ending.....let us put it on the shelf If our story has an ending.....please keep it to yourself I can't bear to know......let's pretend instead ..... pretend it isn't so If our story has an ending...I don't want to know... I shall put my hands up to my eyes, and turn my head away

Sometimes, it is just better to keep the love story going, instead of ending it on a sad note.... This was a very heartfelt and expressive piece. Really great work, Carrie! Congratulations on your win!

I can hear the music in your lines! Beautiful, with a lot of sentiment, a little sadness, a lot of questions. Perfect mix! I really like the part "Let's turn to chapter one again ..." Such a pretty verse there. I am surprised this one didn't knock me a couple places down in the contest. You obviously spent a long time on it, perfecting each word and phrase.

Taking her soft as gentle hand we strolled past these watchful eyes; stirring were the woods, their gathering to gaze upon his bride. I do love your beautiful poetry tis such an inspiring experience beholding the beauty of which your loveliness, splashes about these magnificent pages. Love, John
