I Don'T Know Why
I don’t know why I let you in
It may have been a moment
Off the cuff, to my chagrin
You were so charming, so sweet, so light on your feet
I don’t know why
My senses not alarming
You took me in your arms
Holding me tight, never a worry
My spirit took flight
As we twirled, as we danced
I took comfort; romance
Never did I ponder where I had been that night
So dapper and tall
Your smile said it all
Yet your aura strangely misgiven
No longer so sweet, so light on your feet
Your face distorted
Your manner, driven
As we danced to the song
Fear came along
The encore was never given
Where was I that night?
The devil took flight
I stood there and all was forgiven
