Notes About The Poem

I Do Not See

Why is my eye restrained,
untrained,
To wiggle so, in stillness focused,
On what is not there
Instead of what is

Blind,

I do not see.
My eyes feel the landscape of my mind.
There, I walk with the stumbling gait,
Of a plucked violin.

Like crutches, catching stone or crack,
My Eyes Walk on whispers
Of a pale rolling tongue folded back.

Into a blazing sun
Or blinding night
Of the light of every thought

I wonder

What I am

Or
Where this home I carry
Will come to rest.
