I Do Not Hate You

I do not hate you—
The way you hate me.
Because time is scarce,
And I spend mine sustaining.

I don’t hate you,
the way you hate me.
because love never lived here,
only its dark shadow.

I don’t hate you,
the way you hate me.
because hate is a furnace,
and I am done smoldering.

I don’t hate you,
the way you hate me.
because your words will chase you,
while my silence floats away.
