I Do
Respect is what we will use to water the roots of our future together
Intimately growing our garden of love through life's seasonal weather
Never will I cure this fever of passion, the one that sickens me dearly
Growing old with you is the only thought that makes me think clearly
Today is the day I commit to tying our eternal knot, tight as a tether
For I promise you this union will only know affection, soft as a feather
I'll forever believe in the value of the bond that we have, an unspoken treasure
Even when our lands run dry and we find barren smiles, fighting for pleasure
My heart tells me this is the only path on which I belong, to follow wherever
As love for this moment seems impossible to capture in ink, an unending letter
From this day forward I vow to keep your feelings inside my heart, living forever
While we traverse the peaks and valleys of this universe, our boundless endeavor
Never shall we sever our lesser by putting pressure on what we must remember
That it be devotion that guides us in this marriage, not merely, but sincerely
And each time our journey crosses a milestone we'll think back fiercely, and yearly
Respect is what we will use to water the roots of our future together
