I Died
I died on a Tuesday last Halloween
an October day where old donkeys graze
dying was real, not just a quick phase
as a spirit ghost I was rarely seen
a large brilliant light was just out of sight
I had just had my pumpkin pie with cream
highly whipped like a fat woman’s best dream
demise was naturally caused, not of fright
dying is easy, rolled over in sleep
thanks to an angry cancerous tumor
I did not even bother to ask why
my heaven kept me alone in the deep
Halloween huh? angel said with humor.
That sounds about right, I said in reply.
