I Did It My Way

Only a few moments of a peek into your beauty,
Both my heart and head plunged for the bootie.

Emotions, of my heart, I could still keep inside,
But my heart beating for you, how could I hide?

Life with you, each moment, I felt complete,
Sure I did not waste my precious life to deplete.

‘I am breaking up with you’, you said repeatedly to me,
You searched your freedom; I lived by your essence in me.

I was not, you know, the one to bicker and fight,
Clear was my conscious and wished your future bright.

I myself broke my heart into pieces infinite, therefore,
Left me no cause to plead, before you, anymore.

This was my way of doing and taking it upon myself,
Your happiness was dearer even if my heart became a delf.

Thanx Nette. So many incidents in life have made one learn that one is happy in generosity than in cribbing and spoiling one's own equanimity. Love to have your continuous support. Mohan

Thanx Upma. There are still many people who feel that one has to fight till the end, whatever be the relationship. I think our upbringing in India makes us learn to let go also, in many matters. Mohan

Mohan, When you do all you can to make a relationship work, you can move forward afterward with a "clear" conscience. And you showed maturity by wishing her well in spite of all she'd done. Your poem reveals your tender nature and I hope you have found someone more worthy of you. Congratulations on your win! Best wishes, Carolyn

Thanx Carolyn for your concern. This is an imagery that I used from so many other real experiences. However, I am personally fortunately still with my life partner and doing well and we shall celeberate our silver jubilee of togetherness next year. Love, Mohan

Hi Mohan, breaking up is usually very hard to do but we have to be strong and let people go whether they are lovers, friends, or family - often it is better to just get the strength and move on, my friend. Warmest wishes.
