I Cry

i burn in a unrelenting fire
i drown in overwhelming waters
tears streak down my face
a smile spreads across my lips
i'm free among the clouds
i'm trapped in my tomb
feelings of love overtake my heart
feelings of hate envelope my spirit
i survive in the world around me
i live in my sleep, caressed by my dreams

there is a secret i keep even to myself
about the conflict within
if i admit to it i will drown
if i flee from it i will burn
if i....

i cry.

Hello John Reed, I find this poem to be sad. I sometimes cry myself to sleep, or wake myself up because I cry. Or while i sleep i cry. Have a nice evening my friend. Ir is nice to meet you.

John, Epicletus once wrote, "Man is a little soul carrying around a corpse." Your prose made me remember this quote.
