I Created a Poem

I created a poem last night in my sleep can’t remember the words right now It was a true masterpiece, powerful and deep that brought peace to the world somehow But now that the morning sunshine has filled my eyes and washed away that perfect rhyme There’s nothing left for me now but to hope and pray that I’ll write it again sometime It’s like that tree in Brazil filled with red spiders whose web held the cure for cancer But they were all killed from destroying the forest we forever lost that answer Maybe that was just a dream too, I don’t recall So forget about what I said There’re so many thoughts rolling around in my mind It’s hard to keep them straight in my head

Another FAV, Jerry. Great rhymes and really hit home with me. We may be twins from different mothers the way your mind seems to work a lot like mine. Enjoyed reading your poetry today, my friend. Bill

Ah, the tumbleweeds of thought blowing through the REM sleep desert leaving disappearing footprints.....and there's never a pad of paper nearby....

absolutely creative. I often dream stories and poems; yet in the light of day, they frequently disappear. Drats and double drats. I like the comparison of the Brazilian tree with the answer to cancer but the answer was lost in a fire. Like you, my mind is constantly racing, especially with ideas and imagination. If imagination burned calories, I'd be super thin right now :-) Obviously, I enjoyed the read...have a great evening, Sara

I like to start my poems with a pencil or red ink pen on yellow legal pads. So as you can imagine, I have hundreds of notes lying around. Sometimes they might be just a single word and I'll have no idea why or when I wrote it.

Wonderfully rhymed ABAB. Afraid to say, most of what think wasn't real is. I try not to second guess myself. Great subject matter inserted throughout your creation, I think it's brilliant the way you do that! I AM

The downside to being a poet is a big pile of notes written on everything imaginable.
