I Close My Eyes and Count To Ten

I close my eyes and count to ten
Hoping, praying, begging
That by some grace of God
my heart will stop loving you

As the earth shatters
Each shed of glass cutting deeper
I beg and plead that the pain will end
So
I close my eyes and count to ten

As darkness grabs me by the throat
And I struggle to keep hold
There is only one way that I can see the light
So,
I close my eyes and count to ten

As I fall into oblivion
As the fire of hell bursts into my eyes
As tears of acid burn down my cheeks
It is only you that I think,
When,
I close my eyes and count to ten

Why is it that when there is nothing but pain
I think of you to light the way
Why is that when I begged God
To forget you
It is only because of you that
I believe that there is a God

I can’t understand yet I still,
Close my eyes and count to ten
