Notes About The Poem

I Cherish

I cherish...
         the special here and now; each day that I'm 
      alive, life in general. It's a blessing to be healthy 
          and alive, especially during this trying time. 

                                     I cherish... 
      quiet moments which allow me to truly appreciate 
          life's beauty, to have a conversation with God,
        to be centered, to be grateful for all that I have.

                                     I cherish... 
            the wonderful memories of my late father,
        whose life lessons have molded and shaped me.  
               He made me the man that I am today.

                                      I cherish...
       my family and close friends. They bring me joy 
        beyond measure. They are the ones I turn to
                in times of difficulty and confusion.

                                      I cherish...
        all the living creatures of earth, the savage beauty 
of nature. Not to mention, friendly strangers I've come across 
                who've left pieces of themselves with me.
