I Carry Your Heart With Me

i keep your betrayal with me
i keep your betrayal with me (i keep it in
my soul)i am never without it (where
i go it comes, my friend; and no matter what
my soul is scarred, by your doing, my friend)
i have
no forgiveness (for you have shattered my spirit)
i have no place for you in my world (for my world,
is beautiful, so called friend, and it's better that we
part, for this friendship was not to be)
but your betrayal will forevermore stay
to remind me

in a secret place in my soul, only I know
(that evil exists in this world though the sky is
blue and pretty birds sing, and flowers and trees
grow high, and people speak sweetness)
so this scar will always exist in my soul
and may my eyes never behold you ever again

i keep your betrayal(i keep it in my soul)

Wow, I think I might know the poem you did the parody of and you picked a GREAT one to match with. You took the opposite feeling and really made us feel the emotion. Good job of this, Dear Heart.

_Constance, One minute looking at a sleeping cat all dolled up, next is this parody of E.E. Cumming's i carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart) "and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant and whatever a sun will always sing is you". I feel this soul shredder, divested of the original, if only for awhile. It's always good to feel. Good luck in the contest, and may the season be a kind one to you.. -Richard
