I can't watch you leave

I can't watch you leave I could feel the moment, that you were letting go... knowing you... as well as I do. I see the sadness, as it invades your face, but... I never thought you'd walk away Scattered thoughts before my eyes appear, now I believe leaving me, has been the plan all along. The world keeps turning slowly, but I need to know... when tomorrow comes, I'll still belong Chorus Now, I can't watch you leave, this came so suddenly, I know that there's no getting over you... There's nothing left to lose, 'cause baby all that's left is make believe, I can't feel a thing, I gave you everything, I can't believe that you can just walk away, I can't watch you leave... All our memories have turned back to dust As my world comes crashing down I've never felt so alone, no one left to trust, I want to leave this world right now Chorus Now, I can't watch you leave, this came so suddenly, I know that there's no getting over you... There's nothing left to lose, 'cause baby all that's left is make believe, I can't feel a thing, I gave you everything, I can't believe that you can just walk away, I can't watch you leave... repeat chorus and fade John Derek Hamilton June 28,2025

Such a sad lyrical goodbye. I don't know what I'll do if that ever happens to me. And yet ...

Thanks Tom yeah it's true, me too. I said to my wife the other day I don't know why when I write it always comes out sad, about breaking up. Weird because we've been married 30 years and are happier than ever. Guess some kind of weird sub-conscious thing.

Dear John, you capture love lost moments and heartbreak realizations with lyrical finesse. The soulful epiphany, sense of loss and vulnerability is palpable. Another gem from your pen! Warmest wishes my friend.. ~Susan
