I Can'T Breathe: a Tribute To George Floyd

Privileged and lily white, my skin. Complicit from silence, my shame. All lives matter, but in this moment, in this uneasy time, Black lives should matter, not more but equally So much more equally. Historically harassed, my brothers and sisters matter because my white privilege Kept me in the dark, Kept me from seeing, Kept me from hearing, Kept me from understanding the desperate cries of souls harking from history… “I can’t breathe.” “I can’t breathe.” “I can’t breathe.” Hear me from your rightful place among the angels, George. I can’t breathe either.
