I Can'T Breathe

I can’t Breathe

I cannot breathe; I’m out of breath.
I’m two knees down to face my death.
My life is flashed before each eye.
Forgive me Lord and hear my sigh.

A murmur comes from off my chest.
One final gasp before I rest.
A silent whisper in my ear.
God forgives and calms my fear.

Violence and drugs, I’ve lent and felt.
Judge me not, this hand I’m dealt.
I’m face down in the gutter’s sod.
I’m still your brother, a child of God.

Hear this message I utter today.
Stop the hate and find your way.
The color of skin is just a front.
My ending is not the one you want.

Excellent, pertinent rhyme for Constance's contest. I think you should do very well. This is something most of us have on our mind right now.
