I Can'T Breathe

The bystanders in agony watched While pinned down, his life flushed. Seemingly, with Tears caked eyes He choked on his pain and cries. Why Does the black skin invoke hatred? Why Does racism seem elated? Humanity cries for pardon Which seems so gone. My ancestors' blood built the railways. My forefathers' tears caked the gateways In a country my kin can't proudly call home For in fear, they live like soldiers far from Rome. Pinned down like a dog Bystanders in dismay watched from the fog As my brother's live gradually crept As some in the crowd wept. Black live matters For without it my hope batters Building a world where everything shatters And no principle of man gathers. With Pocketed arms he Choked Floyd Unfazed,as Many exclaimed: "Oh Lord" Indifferent to humanity calling for mercy While thinking of his fantasy My white brother in me sees a foe Because I bare a colour to show That though I may reflect different But My heart defines me as magnificent. A thousand voices cries for Justice For Floyd as he lie graced in laces Destined to laugh no more His only crime, to lie on the floor. As meek as a lamb, he was sacrificed As innocent as Christ he was crucified His voice tingling in my ear beneath As he pleads "I can't breathe". #Notoracism #Blacklivematters #weareone
