Why Does the black skin invoke hatred? Why Does racism seem elated? Humanity cries for pardon Which seems so gone. My ancestors' blood built the railways. My forefathers' tears caked the gateways In a country my kin can't proudly call home For in fear, they live like soldiers far from Rome.
