I Can't Afford To Lose You Now

No, I can’t afford to lose you
In this craziness called life
Though the madness presses in
And I cannot still the strife

I can’t afford to lose you now

No, I can’t afford to lose you
Though I’m catatonic now
In the nothingness of thought
The need to reconnect somehow

I can’t afford to lose you now

No, I can’t afford to lose you
My yearning’s penned upon this page
Fighting all constraints of time
I reach out past my hidden rage

I can’t afford to lose you now

No, I can’t afford to lose you
Your words: a needed, calming grace
Weaving in my troubled mind
glowing wisdom I can trace

No, I can’t afford to lose you now
Not now
Not ever
No, I WILL NOT lose you now!
