I Cannot

I cannot but feel sorry For those that possess more than I While I have nothing I have everything I have health I have distance I have sustenance I live on The never never Isolation for me Is bliss No one For hundreds of miles Just me My love The bush The dessert The weather An odd Roo A long snake A distant Emu With chicks We are fine We are OK I know many would love to swap With me And believe me When I say If I could I would But alas I can’t The borders are closed The planes Don’t fly The roads No movement Just silence The boats Stuck at sea Those poor souls I can only pray For thee The planet creeps Toward lock down But I Have space I can move I can wander about Out here On the never never And wonder If I will see Anyone again It’s a new universe Everyday Its hard to get my head around Yesterday Let alone today I feel horrible I feel terrible Helpless Sadness Selfishness As I Have all News of the dying Comes to me upon the airways Please forgive me For having all

Quite a 'pondering' - many things went thru my mind but mostly that it is a point of view that I would give a lot of thought to if I were in such a place as described in the poem. It's certainly a different outlook and one many really don't have the privilege of owning. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
