I can only imagin

I can only imagine
the marriage of life
From youthfull marriage
to the end of life

But I cannot see
what was not meant for me
one by my side
No one else to see

Children made by her and me
some like her others like me
The making of choices
Of what they may be

The ageing together
the problems we'll flee
the undying love
and sometimes disgrace

The finding of peace
after all the mistakes
Knowing our future
without force of fate

Stay where you are
no matter the stakes
Beside them in a car
were ever it takes

Fighting with voices
that forces and makes
listening to lies
our jealosy at stake

Going to bed
without a word
where silence speaks loudly
and suspisions are heard

Ever the endurance
the constanct reasurance
It's forever and a day
Just as they say

I wish my life
to be this way
somehow I escaped
to a different day

Looking back
I wonder why
For all these women
I was willing to die

It's what they call
 A polygamous life
Where all I loved
Made one wife

Yet today I wonder still
Is the past the life I lived
Was marriage ever the thing I'd give
The ones I loved and love them still

Very thought provoking. Marriage goes through phases, for sure. Sometimes it doesn't last the test of time, unfortunately.

Interesting lines. Sometimes things happen in marriage that cuts it short for one reason or another. Thanks for sharing this one with us. Sara K
