I Can Not Love You

I can not love you open and free In the sunlight for all to see Yet you are the carnation of sparks the fire lets loose And I am the thirsty wood caught in your noose And I love you deep Like the black of the crow In secret between my shadow And my soul I love you with the heart that cries And lets loose the moan of a thousand sighs I love you because I know no other way than this For Cupid's arrow my heart did kiss I love you more than silver more than diamonds or gold or any gem the earth could hold Yet i can not love you but love you I do So my heart stills and weeps As you close your eyes and fall asleep
