I Can
I cannot change the course of history,
Though I find within to try.
Nor can I build of steel and stone,
Great buildings into the sky.
I'm unable to feed the masses,
Existing in some far off land.
Nor put an end to crime and drugs,
Though found so close at hand.
I cannot change the worldly trends,
Or cause strange attitudes to adjust.
Nor can I take advice from others,
In whom I've little trust.
I cannot stop abortion,
And I've not the cure for Aids.
Nor do I possess solutions,
To killings with guns and blades.
I cannot save a world that's lost,
So, In my ability put no stock.
But God hasn't required of me these things,
I'm just to witness, for Him, on my block.
