I Ask the Lord's Blessing To Fall Upon You

pantoum

I ask the Lord's blessing to fall upon you,
I look back with thanksgiving and trust.
The worst of my foes has not broken through
my Jesus is joyful and jealous and just.

I look back with thanksgiving and trust
when your condemnation comes past my gate
my Jesus is joyful and jealous and just
though His vengeance may sometimes seem late.

When your condemnation comes past my gate
I wait on the One who can soften your shell.
Though His vengeance may seem a bit late
God's Son is coming back to free earth from hell.

I wait on the One who can soften your shell.
The worst of my foes has not broken through -
God's Son is coming back to free earth from hell.
I ask the Lord's blessing to fall upon you.
