I Am Your Xavier, Your New Home

"By wisdom a house is built, and
by understanding it is established,
He whispered in my ear.

"Lean in closer please," was my retort.
"I need to know what wisdom and
understanding you impart."

"What is this house of which you speak?
I live just down the street and my house
is made of brick and mortar, fine enough."

"By wisdom a house is built, and
by understanding it is established,"
He spoke in louder tones.

"My windows are clean to see out,
though my door is shut to dust and
dirt." Only silence I heard this time.

"Lean in closer," I prayed "Your silence
is deafening. A homeless man appeared,
and I don't understand why he is here."

This time He spoke in louder tones,
"Who built your dwelling place?" My
response was, "Why, me of course."

"If you are so wise, then why do you not
understand the plight of the homeless man
and why he came to your door?"

"And why do you suppose you built your
own home with brick and mortar? On
what was it established?" was His retort.
