I Am Who I Am

Looking in the mirror I understand I am only as strong as the person I see.

But my dreams are to change the world through a black and white key.

I can’t stand as high as the tallest tree

And I can’t free our world from the misery and treachery; the dark.

But with my desire to have a change I believe I can spark

The battle we will win against the powerful question mark.

I was taught to have a giant heart

And that to love yourself is just a start.

Stuck on level one and there’s more than one part.

But I want to be with the ones who stood.

My name is Francisco Martinez and I believe I could.

I think I should.

Simply because these words speak louder than my voice.

Simply because this is my choice; my purpose.

To take my emotion from beneath the surface

And help to change a life before it worsens.

My name is Francisco Martinez and I stand before you with no desire to be king.

I just bring forth my dream to change this world where

People don’t have to worry about a thing.

Where I can play my keys and let the people sing while crying out their dream.

But only so much can be accomplished.

But I won’t give up on the damned.

Will work until my words spread throughout the land.

For my name is Francisco Daniel Martinez

And this is Who I Am.

I have enjoyed reading your wonderful poetry today Francisco. I love poetry that is written from the heart as I believe that is where the best poetry comes from. I wish you a wonderful weekend filled with Love, Good Health and loads of Inspiration. Love, Carol
