I write my verses in seclusion and solitude, in isolation, free from disturbances and interference, I write; once upon a time I kept my poems secret in concealment, privacy was required for me as I was so afraid of what people would say. Then one day, I got the courage to share them, I posted them online, and they became subject to piracy, theft; plagiarism, pillage, copyright infringements, and plundering, bootlegger raiders, marauders and thieves of words roam around cyber world. Those who cannot write will mimic, mirror, echo, replicate, forge and appropriate, rip off my words and your words; a total copy cat, or just duplicate random lines, oh the sad pain, but how does one prove these stolen words are true, bona fide, and genuine. So, I write my verses quietly in authenticity, I share them with the world, I send them on wings of beauty; and should a low down, no good thief steal my words away; there is nothing I can do to stop them, but never can they steal my soul. _______________________________________ November 17, 2016 Poetry/Verse/ I Am The Real Thing Copyright Protected, ID 16-850-914-0 All Rights Reserved. Better to send the words out, despite all you mentioned, Constance. Especially so in your case. : ) That way we get to read them.

And on that picture - the diet that Oprah's been on really has changed her appearance. ; )

So true! Pure words are better than pirated ones. Perhaps, the perpetrators will walk the plank, lose their thumbs or tongues. Why write poetry? Stay true to yourself! Congrats, Constance!

You are spot on. There may be copiers but your soul cannot be stolen.

Power to truth, BW! They can't steal your soul. I agree w/Chris, take it as a compliment. Imitation is the highest form of ... But since I'm a message poet, they be doing me a favor, echoing my message for others to hear. I love the thief that spreads my message. They may take credit for it, but they know who the real creative voice is behind the stolen words. Love this poem though. Love and peace to you, dear lady.

That is always a problem when you cast your words out for anyone and everyone to see, but your are right, they can't take your soul or who you are. I have had this happen to me before and there really is not a whole lot you can do, so I choose to accept it as a compliment because that is better then getting upset. At least to me. But I know how important and how personal many of these poems are and hopefully you never have to go through that again. I loved this poem.
