I Am Numb
Don't ask me how I think,
don't ask me how I feel,
don't ask for explanations
I am numb.
Don't raise insightful queries
or try to coax replies,
it's not that I don't hear you;
I am numb.
Don't ask me what the time is
or what I'd like to eat,
I hardly know what day it is,
I am numb.
Don't ask me in-depth questions
or even something light,
you're best off leaving well alone,
I am numb.
Don't try to make me ponder,
the process only hurts,
just let my brain go back to sleep
I am numb.
It's not that I am shallow
or that nothing lies within,
it's just that I can't reach it.......
I am numb.
