I Am Not Alone

I see you from my third floor window while drinking my morning coffee as I always do and you are off to work somewhere in this tangled city. I know you are not married as you sport that coy look that only single women know how to wear. Each morning I think that you might look up to my lofty perch and I will smile to let you know that I am aware of your beauty and intelligence and good humor and ambition....while I am shy and prefer to write in my cluttered apartment alone. It takes you a full minute each morning to pass through my territorial bounds as I contemplate our future together. Perhaps one minute per day is all it will ever be and perhaps that is enough. I am happy.

I see you down there
With blue eyes and golden hair
I am not alone

Larry, I love this a lot, happiness is found for him in love from afar... so deep and probably very true for many, a moment in the day he looks forward to ~
